I’ll be honest I’m not gonna waste any time on an intro, just know that this is part 2 of a new practical teaching series we started on demonstrating God’s power in our everyday lives called Let’s Demonstrate. You can check out part one here.

Once again that list isn’t exhaustive, but now you have a pretty good indicator if you were wondering.
Let’s move on and talk about how to get delivered and self deliverance.
Hopefully you have a local church who actively ministers deliverance that you can call or attend a service, but if not, you can call your friends or family that are Christians that minister deliverance. First & foremost follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus never did any miracle or demonstration the same way. And if you’re struggling, that’s okay. So did the Twelve, and they literally walked with Jesus. The tips & videos down below are here to help you. Self deliverance is possible & we’ll start with a prayer for deliverance.
“Father, I’m sorry for sinning against You. I renounce(2 Corinthians 4:2) ex: fear, anxiety, greed, lust, hate etc.(2 Corinthians 4:2) I forgive ex: Amy, Tom, Rick, Leon, Jamie etc. of everything they did to me(Matthew 6:14-15). I am no longer a home of darkness. Satan, you have no right to be here, you have no power over me, you have no right to my life, & I don’t want you here anymore. I break every demonic assignment, contract & legal rite. I am a son or daughter of the Most High God and Jesus is on the throne of my life. Amen.”
Finally, some practical tips on casting out demons.
- Take authority over the demon(s) and tell it to be silent in Jesus’ name.
- If you’re ministering with other people, make sure there’s one person who’s leading the deliverance & is speaking with authority & clarity(not shouting) while the others are taking notes & praying.
- Also, make sure you’re cast out the demons in a known language & not tongues, demons don’t understand the heavenly language. You can pray in tongues all you want but when you’re casting out the demons address it directly so there’s no confusion.
- Tell the demon you want to talk to the person, and call the person to consciousness in Jesus’ name.
- If the person wants to be free & is not a Christian, share the Gospel with them. (This doesn’t have to be drawn out. The only way to be free is to give your life to Jesus because He died & resurrected for us. When we surrender our lives to Him every curse is broken.)
- Lead the person in a prayer of salvation(for reference).
- Have the person specifically renounce any areas where they intentionally gave demons access.
- Have the person forgive any & everyone that they might be holding bitterness and anger against.
- Take authority over the demonic spirit(s) & command it to go in Jesus’ name.
- Lay your hands on the person, along with anyone else ministering with you, and pray for them to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit(Isaiah 61; Luke 11:13).
- After a person gets delivered, it’s important they get discipled & stay accountable. (Help them as best as possible get immersed in the Word of God, prayer, praise & worship, the Church, and community.)
Once again, there are no two deliverances that look the same. Don’t lean too heavily on the tips, lean heavily on the Spirit(Zechariah 4:6). Here are some helpful demonstrations for reference.
