The Power of Persistence

The Power of Persistence

Have you ever wondered what God thinks? I know I have. As a kid, and even now as an adult it blows my mind to think that He is everywhere, all the time. Not just location wise, but chronologically as well. He has never been absent in any moment, ever. As I meditate on this Revelation 1:8 truth, it gives me a more thankful and reverent heart for His grace in my life than I have ever thought possible.

I think back to the seasons of my life that I spent running from God and I realize now that I never escaped Him even for a second. He was ALWAYS there. He was there in my doubtful and confused moments when I wondered where was He when I needed Him. He was there in my shameful moments when I didn’t have the courage to share my faith with the people who needed it most. He was there in my lying moments when I made Him out to be someone He was not. He was even there in my prideful moments when I arrogantly thought I didn’t need Him.

Does any of this sound familiar? Maybe you are reading this and recalling moments in your life which were similar. Maybe you are at that point right now. Wherever you may find yourself on this seemingly, unending roller coaster of life, I have Good News. . . God is there.

Remember when I said God is everywhere? Well, that is really for our benefit. God is not like us; He does not live in the fleeting natural state of time. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit see everything at once. He does not see one moment and dwell on it. His love is evident when He forgave the betrayal He received from His own creation. He knows the end from the beginning and knows what you will do tomorrow, next year, and the rest of your life. He is a forgiving and loving God who loves you with an unfailing love. He is not out to harm you. All He wants to do is pull you close.

Whether you realize it or not, every moment you breathe is because of God’s kindness and patience upon your life. I know for some of you, in your current season you think that is far from the truth, but the Bible says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”.

Jesus is patient and He knows what He is doing. No matter what it seems like, know that He is there and His love for you has NO bounds. For my fellow believers, keep praying no matter what it seems like. – (Romans 12:12). I know things can look bleak and it feels like God is asleep, but He is not – He is absolutely there. The Bible shows us in Daniel 10:12 that from the moment you first prayed about your need, God already answered in the spirit. There is a war going on that we cannot even see. Every time you pray, you are calling on the God that is ABLE to do the impossible on your behalf. He is not only able to answer, He is more than able to breakthrough with your answer.

If you are reading this, know that the God of this universe has called you by name and He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above ALL that you can ask or imagine. Keep praying and trust Him with all of your heart. He will NOT fail you and He will fight for you. Your breakthrough is closer than you think. When you get the victory, do not keep it to yourself. Shout it from the rooftops (Psalms 47:1) and be sure and let me know so I can rejoice with you! Be blessed, be joyful and be encouraged, your victory is closer than you think.

I know your friends aren’t saved yet, but keep praying. I know you still don’t have a job, but keep praying. I know your marriage is on the rocks, but keep praying. Your breakthrough is closer than you realize.
