Wait For It

Wait For It

I gotta be honest. I struggle with being nice to people. Maybe you’re like me and you have a little bit of a “bite” to your personality. What I mean by that is, if it wasn’t for God, I’d be the meanest person alive. Okay, maybe not the meanest person but certainly one that isn’t pleasant to be around.

Side note, the reason why this week’s(or last weeks) encouraging moment is coming to you a little bit late is because I never want to to try to manufacture or steal something to make myself sound clever. Everything you read from this ministry comes from my own personal time with the Holy Spirit. For the most part I plan on releasing a word every other Saturday, but I move with God, not the other way around. You won’t hear from me until I’ve heard from Jesus.

Recently I’ve had the opportunity to sit down with some friends in moments of full disclosure and I’ve gotten to learn so much about them, but also a lot about myself as well. So I’m going to give you some of the revelations that I received from these moments.

I told you initially that I have a little bit of a “bite” to my personality. Let me explain what I mean. I tend to do everything with passion. Even before I gave my life to Christ I did everything with passion, just the wrong passion. If I was competing it was to show that I was better than you, if I was talking it was to get adoration, I made almost everything I did about me. I was mean.

Then God got a hold of my life. As I began solidifying my relationship with Him I started seeing where I needed the most work. Jesus showed me through His Word and His people that I was extremely selfish. What He didn’t show me was that my “bite” was something in me that if refined could be used for Him. Now, my passion is for making God known and demonstrating His love.

What I want to make clear is that just because you have an unorthodox personality or character trait, that doesn’t mean you’re living in contradiction to what God wants. Someone reading this might be unusually sensitive or quiet. I personally am very loud. You’re “bite” can be completely unique, big or small. God has put certain things in you that are made for His glory, even if you don’t realize it yet.

I pray that whoever reads this would gain the wisdom to differentiate what the Holy Spirit has put in you vs what you do by yourself in the flesh. There is a big difference. As long as you submit yourself fully to God and His Word, He’ll transform you into who He’s called you to be(2 Corinthians 3:18).

Please know that transformation in Christ takes time. Don’t put God on a speed clock. I personally am very much in the process of becoming selfless, among other things. I want to encourage any new or seasoned believer that you don’t have to look around at other peoples walk with God and try to mimic it. That also means that you don’t have to copy someone else’s personality or style. God made you who you are for a reason.

You are completely unique and your testimony has power(Revelation 12:11). You’re changing even now, just Wait For It.
